Engaged:
Susanne & Neill
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
05/14/21
Neill spent his childhood summers coming to Yellowstone National Park every year with his family, and it became one of the most meaningful places on Earth to him. So when he met the woman he wanted to marry, he had to bring her to Yellowstone on a road trip to show her a place that held some of his greatest memories. Neill & Susanne met in the middle of the COVID lockdown through a dating app, and fell in love over the span of that year. They camped around the park + shared one of the most special trips in their relationship.
After Neill proposed to Susanne in Disney World the following year, they knew they had to return to a place so special to them for their engagement session.
For Susanne & Neill’s adventure engagement session around Yellowstone, we explored many of the park’s most fascinating landmarks while capturing breathtaking shots of them with the favorite backdrop in the world.
Yellowstone is just roughly an eight hour road trip from where Susanne & Neill live in Denver, Colorado, making it an easy one-day drive. We went during opening day in mid-May, when the last chills of winter are still hanging on, so there wasn’t as many crowds but camping is still doable.
Yellowstone National Park proved to be an incredibly original + awe-inspiring location to have an engagement shoot full of adventure, perfect for lovers with a little wild side.
The spots we made sure to hit during the shoot were Old Faithful + the surrounding hot springs, and Grand Prismatic. There are bison + other rare wildlife all over the park, which make for exciting stops along the way. Other spots pictured we made sure to check out were Lamar Valley, Mammoth Hot Springs, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Upper Falls, and Inspiration Point.
